Poetry Corner

A tiny, tiny selection of poetry penned in the last 6ish months.

Missed Demons, Missed Loves

I.
The petulant clank of the biggest key
Tips a scale between two beasts
One click, two clicks
A multitude of sixes
Erasing away every assurance

II.
Thick, musty papers stacked
Bound by the weight of the world
Eras of knowledge lost in a forest
Chopped down {printed upon} rotting
On a delicately stained shelf

III.
An evasive, lustrous beacon
Enshrouding the darkness
Bleaching cornea, iris, soul
A torture box technology
Stored fragments of demons and dreams

IV.
Like words form sentences
Pairing for paragraphs
Stumbling into ill articulated works
Things once hated, now a lover’s letter
Ever waited upon, never again to come

Doubtlessly Uncertain

Dashes, commas, every smiley placed
Drop acidly through the page
Leftover soft fuzzes at the edge of the singe
Paired to the vacant black holes
A comprehensive self-deletion

Porous: ink clings
To whatever face it finds
Sketching out the self indulgent
Party of lines
Dancing and mingling
Share a drink and a bowl

Before flashing lights and taunt yellow tape
Indicate a reason to leave
Every click of the syntaxical spear
Screams hollow didies
At anesthetized souls
